CICC SE CCSG 1209: INTRODUCTION TO CHILD COUNSELING (SPECIAL EXAMS)

The course is designed to equip students with skills in child counseling in our daily life.
The course will specifically focus on working with the arts and with play therapies. This
will include practical sessions in art imagery, sand tray work, as well as exploring the
value of therapeutic story work. Specific therapy goals will be customized to meet the
needs of the children and their families. The overall goal of our therapy program is to
alleviate symptoms of distress; improve the child’s social and emotional welfare; increase their use of effective communication skills; and strengthen family, community, and peer relationships.
