This course explores environmental issues from the point of view of chemis try.  Specific topics include properties of water, aquatic chemistry, oxidation – reduction phenomena, water pollution and water treatment, inorganic and organic pollutants, greenhouse gases and global warming, waste managem ent, energy resources, mitigation measurement against chemical pollution, and conventions, protocols and agreements to protect the environment.
