The dynamics of present-day English will be the focus of this course. As a starting point, students will learn the characteristics of the ‘traditional’ na tive English dialects. These will then be juxtaposed with the ‘New Englishes’. Ultimately, students in this course will seek to acknowledge, comprehend, and appreciate the emerging global ‘Englishism’.
