This is an introductory course designed to help business students acquaint themselves with the framework of Uganda’s legal system and to understand the legal environment within which businesses operate. A part from the law of contract, students will also have the opportunity to study the law of agency as well as the law of negligence. Students are introduced to general principles of law and familiarize students with the basic laws covering mercantile law contracts, sales partnerships, negotiable instruments, bailment, sureties, and bankruptcies. Students are also briefly exposed to the law of torts.
