This course introduces students to the basics
of concepts of political science and comparative politics of developing world
in particular. Students will be equipped with how to work with concepts such as
power, authority, institutions, development, modernisation, political regime
etc. The course will also highlight key issues such as state and nation
building process, institutional building, increasing state capacity and enhancing
regional integration. The course will
also discuss applications of comparative in the developing countries of Africa.
