DPI PGDP 5202: DEMOCRACY, POLITICS AND INSTITUTIONS
The study of democratic administration is premised on a commitment to the progressive extension of people's capacities to govern themselves collectively. However, many of the principles of public administration were developed prior to the democratization of the state, and one result has been public administration and public policy- making procedures that are unnecessarily hierarchical, inflexible, and inefficient. Public Policy will allow students to become familiar with the actors, institutions, and processes of public policymaking and administrative governance.
