CHDE PGED 5202: COMPARATIVE AND HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION

This is part begins with African indigenous education. It surveys the development of formal education in East Africa by missionaries up to the time of independence. Various education missions before and after independence will be studied. The comparative education section surveys major education systems of the ancient and modern times. It analyses the Impact of western education on African education systems. It further studies modern Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, India, UK and the Wales and U.S.A educational systems and their implication on the political, social and economic aspects.
